Post-Conference Tours

Three post-conference tours are being organized by the conference organizers. Tickets can be reserved and paid for online. The offline registration
form can also be used to make a booking, and for arranging payment.
Owing to the need to reserve air tickets, participants must book the Beijing - Xi'an
and
Guilin - Hangzhou - Shanghai tours before 1 July 2005 (extended from 1 June) and include
passport details when registering. Fees do not include personal insurance,
air insurance and tips.

Five days, five nights, 4-star hotels: Before 1 July
2005 (extended from 1 June) - one person in single room: USD 1350; one person in a double room:
USD 1040. After 1 July 2005 -: one person in single room: USD 1600; one
person in a double room: USD 1400.
The tour begins in Beijing on the morning of 9 September 2005 and ends
at the Sino-Swiss Hotel, Beijing International Airport on 14 September in the
morning.
Fee includes transport, hotel accommodation, domestic air tickets
(incl. taxes), five breakfasts and ten meals, admission tickets,
transfers, air-conditioned cruise ship and English-speaking guide.
Note: includes three nights on deluxe cruise boat on Yangtze River
(maximum 150 persons, 150 rooms)
Note: participants aiming to leave Beijing on September 14, or later, are advised to hand over heavy luggage
to the tour operator for collection at the Sino-Swiss Hotel. |

Since its establishment as a city more than 3100 years ago, Xi'an was chosen as the capital by emperors of 12
dynasties spanning almost 11 centuries. The most dominant was the Tang Dynasty,
when China witnessed its Golden Age and the city was a commercial and trading hub, ranking with the ancient Rome as
one on the world's most cosmopolitan cities. It was also the starting point for the Silk
Route. |

An extraordinary day begins as you tour the life-sized
terracotta warriors (no two are alike) and bronze chariots that were
unearthed around the mausoleum of

Originally built in 652 as part of the Cien Temple, the five-storey pagoda was

Three Gorges Dam: the Three Gorges refers to the 192 km stretch of the Yangtze River that winds eastward from Chongqing to

Xiling - comprising the most picturesque views of mountain and river landscapes along the Yangtze River. |
