1. Countries needing a visa
Canadian visa offices outside Canada are listed here.
The official Canadian visa website www.cic.gc.ca
notes that participants and accompanying persons visiting Canada, must:
- have a valid travel document, such as a passport;
- be in good health (possibly substantiated by the results a medical
examination);
- convince an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home
and family, that will take you back to your country of origin;
- convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of
their visit, and
- have enough money for their stay;
- a Temporary Resident Visa, depending on citizenship.
2. Visa Invitation Form
To apply for a Temporary Resident Visa, participants travelling to FIDIC 2008
Quebec may need a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada, the
"someone" being in the present case ACEC, the Canadian host
association.
To facilitate applications, those participants needing an official invitation
letter sent by the host organization ACEC-Canada should
send a completed visa invitation form, one for each participant and
accompanying person/s, to ACEC, which will send an invitation letter. Citizens
of countries
listed here
do not require visas; those who are citizens of countries listed here
require a visa..
Please complete and send the form given below, one form per participant and per accompanying
person/s to ACEC, which will send a visa invitation letter (printed on ACEC
letterhead with a handwritten signature) by courier express or registered mail,
with a copy by fax, and a scanned copy by email. So
please give your email address, fax number and a postal address for contacts.
3. Visa Invitation Letter
The visa invitation letter sent by ACEC needs to include the following
information:
- About the person (for a participant and each accompanying person) being invited:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Telephone number.
- Relationship to the person being invited (i.e., attending FIDIC 2008
Quebec).
- The purpose of the trip (i.e., to attend FIDIC 2008 Quebec).
- How long the person intends to stay in Canada.
- Details on accommodation.
- Details on living expenses.
- Date the person intends to leave Canada.
- About the ACEC
- Complete name or organization
- Date of foundation
- Address
- Telephone number
- Description of ACEC.
- Name and position of person signing.
- ACEC Registration Number (ACEC is registered as a Canadian
coorporation).
Attached to the letter will be photocopy of a document proving the ACEC's
status in Canada.
4. Notarisation
Some visa offices may tell the applicant that the visa application letter must
be notarized
by a Notary Public. If this is the case, the applicant is asked to contact ACEC.
A new letter will be sent that has been notarised.
