| Applications for inclusion in the FIDIC List of
Mediators/Experts are
no longer being accepted. Those on the List were invited
to apply to join the new FIDIC President's List of Approved Adjudicators (full details at FIDIC.org/adjudicators).
National Member Associations are also being encouraged to create national
lists of Mediators, Adjudicators and Arbitrators.
The qualification criteria that FIDIC's Assessment Panel sought when reviewing applications to the Mediators/Experts List are summarised below. The Assessment Panel reserved the right to waive any particular requirement, but needed to be satisfied about the applicant's suitability in the light of overall criteria. The application procedure that was used for the FIDIC List of Experts is given below to indicate the steps taken for applicants to gain entry. This procedure is NO LONGER in place as applications are no longer being accepted. Applications Note: Applications to the Mediators/Experts List are no longer being received. 1. Applicants must be nominated by their Member Associations, and each applicant proposed and seconded by two supporters with personal knowledge of the applicant's ability to perform the duties of a mediator. Applicants who are already listed in the FIDIC List of Arbitrators do not need to send such references. 2. Applicants will also be required to give an undertaking that they will continue to develop their abilities as mediators by study and attendance at training courses. When appropriate, registrants may also be requested to provide non-attributable details of their cases for publication by FIDIC. 3. Each application to FIDIC must be accompanied by a non-refundable administration fee of SFr. 100.--, (or equivalent US Dollars or Pounds Sterling), either by cheque or by transfer to account No 274 644-01 (FIDIC) at Swiss Credit Bank, CH-8021 Zurich. Payment can also be made by credit card. Deadline: 30 April each year. 4. Each application to FIDIC must be on a letter not exceeding four pages describing the applicant's qualifications and brief biographical data. Included in each application should be a letter from the FIDIC Member Association nominating the applicant for the FIDIC Experts List, and the two letters from supporters who are proposing and seconding the applicant. Successful candidates will be placed on the FIDIC Experts List for a period of five years, after which they will be requested to re-apply.
