| FIDIC Contract Conditions: A two-day training seminar on the development and practical use of FIDIC® Conditions of Contract | |
| FIDIC first became active in 1957
when it published its FIDIC® Conditions of Contract for Works of Civil
Engineering Construction. In 1995, the conditions were extended to include mechanical and electrical works, as well as design-build
and turnkey projects. The World Bank and other international funding institutions adopted the 1987 Conditions of Contract for Works of Civil Engineering Construction with some amendments to produce their own version. Based mainly on risk allocation , FIDIC introduced in 1999 a completely new set of four contracts known as the FIDIC® CONSTRUCTION, PLANT and DESIGN BUILD, EPC / TURNKEY and SHORT FORM conditions of contract. As before, the World Bank and other international funding institutions adopted the 1999 Conditions of Contract for CONSTRUCTION with some amendments to produce the FIDIC® MDB HARMONISED EDITION to be used on MDB-financed projects. Seminar tutors: beside a group of experienced Egyptian engineers and legal advisers, Dr Peter Boswell, FIDIC General Manager, will to speak on FIDIC® MDB HARMONISED EDITION and discuss the principal amendments and its contractual implications. Seminar documentation: All delegates will be provided with the FIDIC® 1999 Conditions of Contract for CONSTRUCTION in English/Arabic text. Other FIDIC Publications shall be available in the English/Arabic text for sale as follows: - FIDIC® Conditions of Contract PLANT & DESIGN-BUILD - FIDIC® Conditions of Contract EPC/TURNKEY PROJECTS - FIDIC® Conditions of Contract SHORT FORM OF CONTRACT - FIDIC® Client / Consultant Agreement - FIDIC® Tendering Procedures. Who should attend? All professionals involved in preparing or managing large construction or infrastructure projects, especially those financed by the World Bank and IFI’s or under European Union programmes |
