The FIDIC Client-Consultant Model Services Agreement was published in a completely revised fourth edition in 2006. The so-called White Book represents the basic form of a contract between a Client and a Consultant.

FIDIC invites consultants with little or no experience in using the White Book as well as consultants wishing to be introduced to the entirely new fourth revision to join this online training programme.

The programme covers the content specified in the Client-Consultant Agreements Module (Module 0) of the FIDIC Contracts Manual. The objective of the training programme is to make participants fully acquainted with the definitions, the clauses, their interpretation and the proper application of the White Book. The training programme will also covers the FIDIC Sub-consultancy AgreementFIDIC Joint-Venture Agreement and the FIDIC Model Representative Agreement

Presentations are made by internationally-recognised industry leaders.

The programme is based on six online sessions in a virtual classroom over a four months period starting in March 2009.

The eFIDIC Training Platform will be used for all interactive working and virtual online training sessions will be held in a eRoomX virtual classroom with BT teleconferencing for the audio links (participants logon on to eRoomX and phone in to a BT conference call).

Participants are divided into teams of some 12, depending on the participants' time-zones.

Each session will comprise a lecture on the contractual issues, discussion and an introduction to the assignments to be completed before next session. Participants will discuss and work on the problems presented using the eFIDIC Training Platform. The necessary FIDIC documents including the new White Book will be available in the programme's library on eFIDIC.

The participants may submit their assignments individually or jointly, and feed-back will be provided to all submissions.

The participants will receive a FIDIC Certificate of Participation.

The programme does not include a physical meeting of participants. This is under consideration as an optional extra. It would include a follow-up session in a convenient location and may possibly include personal assessment.
