Bayo Adeola, former Chair of FIDIC's Capacity Development Committee and a former member of the FIDIC Executive Committee, has written a book titled Engineering is Development that shares historic insights on the impact of engineering on Nigeria's development in the face of a "developmentally challenged history". The book, published by CPMS, Nigeria, and available in hard and soft copy from the FIDIC Bookshop, concludes that stakeholders need to bring more state-of-the-art thinking to the main issues so as to create greater synergy between the needs of the population at large, infrastructure requirements and knowledge intensive industries.
