The Business of a Professional Services Firm
 
In the early 1990’s, The World Bank sponsored FIDIC to prepare a training manual applicable to professional service firms. The result was the publication in 1994 of a 280-page manual entitled The Professional Services Firm – A Training Manual and Guide to Practice. In 2000, FIDIC signed a license agreement with The World Bank for the publication of a revised and updated version of the training manual. The new publication was published in May 2003. The FIDIC-World Bank training manual The business of a professional services firm that was published in 1991 is available (PDF; 1 MB) as well as training manuals published by national Member Associations. These include a manual published by ACEA-Australia that is intended for professional training at a fairly basic level (appropriate for say introductory courses in developing countries: Manual is available from acea@acea.com.au.

SURVEYS
 
FIDIC 20021 Capacity Building Survey on Government Initiatives: the results of a questionnaire (Results) on recommended government initiatives for capacity building that was sent to FIDIC Member Associations in January 2002 found that governments should focus on the provision of working capital. The summary of the results was sent to the associations in September 2002.
