FIDIC has asked its Member Associations in a letter (MA 08 99) to support its proposed changes to drafts of the new International Standards Organization (ISO) 9000:2000 quality management" standards by contacting national ISO representative. The FIDIC proposals and point of view was prepared by FIDIC's Quality Management Forum, chaired by Tonny Jensen. Before contacting national ISO representatives, MAs were urged to read the second committee drafts of the new ISO standards ISO/CD2 9001:2000 (Fundamentals and Vocabulary) and ISO/CD2 9004:2000 (Guidance for Performance Improvement) available as RTF (1.9 MB) suitable for most wordprocessors. This is a larger file so it may be wise to download a zip compressed RTF file (290kB). Also circulated for comment is the validation programme in RTF (1.0MB) and zipped RTF (220kB) for ISO/CD2 9001:2000 and ISO/CD2 9004:2000. ISO's list of national member organizations is also available. Please contact an organization to obtain the contact details of the person handling the new ISO 9000:2000 standards.
