FIDIC undertakes a regular Annual Survey as well as surveys on special topics.
 
 
EFCA members are asked to return forms by 15 May each year. FIDIC members will be sent forms in July. Updating is by 15 August.

FIDIC surveys the consulting industry every two years to gauge the uptake of FIDIC's  Business Integrity Management System (BIMS) in order that firms can be be given increased recognition for their efforts to stamp out corruption.
 
FIDIC is in the process of updating its Client/Consultant Model Service Agreement (the “White Book”) from the 3rd to 4th Editions. As part of this process, FIDIC is comparing key elements of client-consultant agreements published by various Member Associations. Some of this information is being used by drafting teams working with governments to establish national White Books. FIDIC cannot underestimate the importance of this work since client-consultant agreements are key documents for the industry. FIDIC is complementing the available information with the results of a survey. The survey form was sent to FIDIC Member Associations for completion by 10 August 2006.
 
The FIDIC 2005 Young Professionals Survey aims to survey groups in FIDIC’s Member Associations to establish Young Professional contact details for each association, and to benchmark what is happening with Young Professionals globally. This will allow FIDIC  to operate the FIDIC YPF more effectively and to make sure that it has global participation. 
 
 
The FIDIC Executive Committee has indicated that continued involvement in ISO and in the development of ISO-related documents requires reactivation of a “Quality Committee”. The committee’s work would include influencing the development of the ISO 9001 Standard. FIDIC undertook a survey of FIDIC Member Associations in early-2008.
 
 
FIDIC published Business Integrity Management (BIM) Guidelines in 2001 and has promoted the concept on the both the demand and supply sides of the consulting engineering industry. It is surveying firms to identify the response to and need for BIM.

  • Hopes to reach firms which have not implemented BIM in some form and to ascertain their reasons;

Contributors have been invited to submit case histories for reporting at the FIDIC 2005 Annual Conference (Beijing, 8-12 September; www.fidic2005.org)

  • Aim: to develop and implement FIDIC’s programme to build capacity in the consulting engineering industry at the levels of the overall industry, national Member Association, and the individual firm through the actions of Member Associations, the FIDIC Capacity Building Committee (CBC)  is assembling case histories of the evolution of the consulting engineering industry in developing countries, to help identify and demonstrate the key success factors for a successful and sustainable consulting engineering industry.

FIDIC's Strategic Review Task Force has undertaking a short strategic survey of the consulting industry in member countries as part of a full five-year strategic review.
 
Member Associations were sent a one-page survey form with two questions for completion by associations before 1 May 2004.
